The much-anticipated India vs. England series begins on Wednesday, January 22, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, kicking off a thrilling five-match T20I contest between two closely matched teams.

This white-ball series, which also includes three ODIs, serves as a vital preparation for both sides ahead of next month’s Champions Trophy.

For India, all eyes will be on Mohammed Shami, who makes his return to the squad after recovering from an ankle injury sustained after the ODI World Cup final loss to Australia in November 2023.

Shami's comeback is especially significant in the absence of pace ace Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently sidelined with a back injury, leaving India's bowling attack relying heavily on his experience.
