 England announced their playing XI over 24 hours ahead of the match, with Jacob Bethell and Jordan Cox set to make their debuts. 

Jamie Overton, replacing Jos Buttler, will also debut in the T20I format as a batter while recovering from a back injury. Saqib Mahmood returns to international cricket for the first time since March 2023.

Australia, meanwhile, did not reveal their final XI, but captain Mitchell Marsh confirmed Josh Hazlewood’s return following a calf injury. If Matt Short plays, he is likely to open the batting, potentially leaving Jake Fraser-McGurk out of the side.
