Euro 2024 wraps up with a showdown in Berlin on Sunday evening, as Spain and England clash in the final at a buzzing Olympiastadion for the continental crown.

Spain, favorites to thwart England's hopes of bringing football home, are no strangers to the Henri Delaunay Trophy. In contrast, the 1966 World Cup champions are yet to lift the prestigious cup.

Both teams had challenging semi-final matches. Spain edged out France, while England triumphed over the Netherlands to secure their spot in consecutive finals.

Team News

Spain’s quarter-final against Germany saw key defenders Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand suspended. Both are now available again, with Carvajal likely replacing Jesus Navas, the last remaining player from Spain's Euro 2012 squad, and Le Normand expected to replace Nacho.

Unfortunately, Pedri will miss the final due to a knee injury, and Ayoze Perez is also out with a quadriceps tear. Alvaro Morata, who had a scare after a bizarre injury involving a security guard, is fit and ready to lead the attack.

RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo, one of the tournament's top scorers with three goals, will be crucial in midfield, supported by the young talents Yamal and Nico Williams. Yamal is set to break the record for the youngest player to appear in a World Cup or Euros final, surpassing Pele’s 66-year-old record from the 1958 World Cup.

England, meanwhile, arrive in Berlin with a clean bill of health. Luke Shaw, having recovered fully, is a potential starter. Shaw’s impact as a substitute against Switzerland and his successful semi-final stint make him a strong candidate for the starting XI.

Gareth Southgate is likely to stick with a 3-4-2-1 formation. Despite Ollie Watkins' semi-final heroics, captain Harry Kane, with three goals to his name, will lead the attack, supported by Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden. Kobbie Mainoo, the youngest player to start a major tournament semi-final for England's men's team, has earned his place in the midfield.
