In response to feedback regarding the league's duration, the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 has undergone a reduction to 44 matches from the previous 61. Each team is slated to participate in 10 league games, with the top two teams locking horns in the Qualifier for a chance at the coveted final.

The league stage of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 will comprise 40 matches, with the top 4 teams advancing to the playoffs. In a departure from prior formats, this season will feature 4 playoffs instead of 5.

The Qualifier on January 19 will see the top two teams clash, while the Knockout on January 20 will witness a battle between the third and fourth-placed teams. On January 22, the Challenger match will determine the finalist by pitting the loser of the Qualifier against the winner of the Knockout.
